A gravel pit is only as good as the iron running it. We run more than 40 machines, and every dump truck, loader, and excavator on this page is ours, parked in our own yard on Highway 2 and wrenched on in our own shop. We do not lease equipment we do not know, and we do not send out a machine that is not ready to work. On your job site, that shows up as fewer breakdowns, fewer delays, and a crew that shows up when we say we will.

TANDEM DUMP TRUCKS

Our tandem trucks are the red ones you will see running Highway 2 all day. Each load carries roughly 15 tons, so we can tell you almost exactly how many trips your project needs before the first truck ever leaves the yard.

That matters for scheduling. If your driveway needs three loads of Class 5, we know that going in, and we can tell you how many trucks will be moving through your site and when. No guessing, and no surprise trips tacked onto the job at the end.

WHEEL LOADERS

Our wheel loaders work the pit end of every order, moving Class 5, washed rock, sand, and topsoil out of the stockpiles and into your trailer or one of our trucks. On site, the same loaders spread material and rough-grade once it is delivered.

For you, that means faster loading at the scale house and less time standing around waiting on material once a truck reaches your job. Whether you are picking up at the pit or we are hauling to you, the loader is what keeps the job moving instead of waiting on it.

EXCAVATORS

Our excavators handle basements, building pads, utility trenches, and general site prep, digging to grade and getting your project ready for the next trade.

One machine in the fleet is a long-reach excavator, built for the jobs standard equipment cannot handle: technical demolition, and placing rip rap along a shoreline without driving equipment into the lake. It puts material exactly where it needs to sit, without tearing up ground that did not need to be touched.

SCREENING PLANT

Our screening plant runs raw dirt through a series of screens to pull out rock, roots, and clumps, leaving clean black dirt and topsoil behind.

That matters more than it sounds like it should. Unscreened dirt looks fine on the truck and then fights you all season, with rocks turning up in the garden and clumps that will not break down under new sod. Screened topsoil goes down smoother, grows faster, and does not come back to bite you in July.

Round out the lineup with dozers, graders, and skid steers, the equipment that handles finish grading, ditch work, and the tight spots the big iron cannot reach.

SUPPORT & MAINTENANCE

Behind the trucks and the loaders is a shop that keeps them running. Three generations of Storlie operators have kept iron alive through Northwoods winters, and that habit has not changed. Routine maintenance, not runaway repairs, is what keeps a machine on the job instead of parked in the shop.

FAQ

Do you rent out your equipment?

No. Our crews run our iron. If a machine is working on your site, one of our own operators is running it, not a renter.

Can you handle full site prep, not just material delivery?

Yes. Between our excavators, loaders, and trucks, we handle grading, building pads, utility trenches, and hauling in one crew, start to finish, without bringing in outside subcontractors for the equipment side of the job.
