Where We Deliver · Cass Lake
THIS IS HOME. THIS IS CASS LAKE.
Cass Lake is where Storlie Construction actually lives. Our pit and yard sit just up Highway 2 from town, with Pike Bay and the inland lake on Star Island close by and the Leech Lake area community all around us. We have been family owned and running loads out of that same spot since the 1960s, so when a Cass Lake number shows up on the caller ID, we already know the roads.
The Shortest Run We Make
Every load we deliver starts at our own yard, but nowhere is the trip shorter than right here in Cass Lake. Trucks can be loaded and rolling within minutes of a call, and most jobs in town or around Pike Bay get worked into the same day's schedule. That is not a promise we can make everywhere we deliver, but around home, it is just how the day usually goes.
Straight From Our Own Stockpiles
Because Cass Lake sits right at the pit, you are getting material with the least handling of anywhere on our route. Class 5 gravel (MnDOT Spec 3138) covers driveways and roads, washed rock handles drainage, sand fills concrete and fill needs, and black dirt and screened topsoil finish a yard, all pulled from the same stockpiles our own crews load from every day. Aggregate moves by the ton and soils by the yard, in tandem loads of roughly 15 tons at a time. For shoreline work on Cass Lake or Pike Bay, we also stock rip rap (MnDOT Spec 3601) sized for lake ice and wave action.
Excavation Close To Home
Cass Lake and the surrounding Leech Lake area mix year-round homes, cabin lots, and resort properties, and we grade and excavate for all three. That covers driveway building and regrading, septic prep for lake lots, site clearing ahead of a new cabin, and shoreline grading tied to a rip rap placement. Because we are right here, a crew can walk a site, look at a washout on a gravel road, or check a grade question in person without much delay.
Questions From Cass Lake Neighbors
Since the pit is right here, can you turn a delivery around faster than other towns? Usually, yes. Being this close cuts down on drive time, so same-day or next-day delivery is realistic for most Cass Lake and Pike Bay jobs. Call ahead so we can slot you in.
Do you still deliver small residential loads, or just big commercial jobs? Both. A single tandem load for a short driveway gets the same attention as a subdivision road job. Being local also means we can drop a smaller load without the trip eating the whole job.
Do I need a permit for shoreline rip rap on Cass Lake or Pike Bay? Often, yes. DNR permits commonly apply to shoreline work on Minnesota lakes. We will point you to the permit process and place the rock once you are cleared.
