Where We Deliver · Laporte
TOWNSHIP ROADS AND SANDY GROUND NEAR LAPORTE.
Laporte sits on Highway 200 between Bemidji and Walker, in the sandy, wooded country around Garfield Lake and the Kabekona River. It is a quiet corner of our territory built around township roads, small farms, and cabins tucked back from the water, and the loose, sandy soil out here changes how we approach almost every job.
MATERIAL FOR SANDY, WOODED GROUND.
Sandy soil drains fast around Laporte, which sounds like an advantage until a driveway or a yard starts losing its surface every time it rains. Class 5 gravel (MnDOT Spec 3138) gives that sandy base something to lock onto, which is why it is the standard for driveways and township road patching out this way. Garfield Lake and the Kabekona corridor bring shoreline requests too, and we size rip rap to the MnDOT Spec 3601 classes to hold a bank against ice and current. Fill sand and septic sand are also common orders here, since the ground already drains well and just needs the right grade of sand to meet code under a mound system.
SITE WORK ON TOWNSHIP ROADS AND CABIN LOTS.
A share of our work near Laporte is on township roads themselves, patching washouts and rebuilding a road bed after a wet spring softens the base underneath. On private land, we grade cabin driveways back through the trees, cut in culverts at low crossings, and clear building pads on wooded lots. We also handle smaller demolition jobs, clearing out an old shed or camper trailer before a new build starts.
THE ROUTE DOWN TO LAPORTE.
Our yard is at 31923 US Highway 2 in Cass Lake, and loads to Laporte run down Highway 200. Laporte falls comfortably within the roughly 50-mile radius we run from the pit, so most driveway and road jobs here need just a load or two. A tandem load runs somewhere around 15 tons, and we sell aggregate by the ton, soils by the yard.
