LEECH LAKE IS OUR BUSIEST DOCK.

Walker sits on the west shore of Leech Lake, the hub for the resorts, marinas, and cabin country that ring the lake. Between the City Park public landing, the marina district, and the steady flow of seasonal traffic through town, Walker sees more construction and shoreline work than almost anywhere else on our route. We treat it that way, with trucks running that direction on a regular basis.

Resort owners and cabin owners around Walker keep us busy with parking pad construction, driveway regrading, and grading for new construction near the water. We build and maintain the private roads that wind back to seasonal properties, and we handle culvert work where a driveway crosses a drainage path. We will help pick the right class for your shoreline and point you toward the DNR permit process first, since most shoreline placement on a lake this size needs one. For driveways, resort lots, and new parking areas, Class 5 gravel (MnDOT Spec 3138) is the standard base material. Washed rock handles drainage around docks and low spots, and sand, whether fill, concrete, or septic grade, covers most of what a cabin or resort project needs beyond that.

From our yard at 31923 US Highway 2 in Cass Lake, trucks headed to Walker run down Highway 371 for most of the trip. Walker sits comfortably inside the roughly 50-mile radius we cover regularly, so tandem loads, about 15 tons each, go out that way often, and aggregate ships by the ton while soils ship by the yard. Spring load restrictions sometimes apply to sections of road near town for a few weeks each year, and we plan deliveries around that instead of fighting it.
